Welcome to Week 15 of the 52 weeks to a better you journey.

For those of you who were paying attention,ย  I skipped a week of posting. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I know. I know. Please don’t think badly of me. I could give you all kinds of excuses, but mainly the reason for skipping the post was that I had relatives visiting.

You know how it is when family visits, right?

That is not to say that I didn’t try to keep up with my baby steps during that time though. In fact, I tried to recruit some of my family to take this journey with me. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I hope you were able to continue with your baby steps.

We are going to continue as if that blip never happened. If you are not reading this in real time then you won’t even know what happened.

Except that I told you about itโ€ฆ

Hmmm. Maybe I shouldn’t have said anything. ๐Ÿ™‚

Week 15

Make your bed every day

Okay. This one may seem like a silly baby step. What’s the big deal with making your bed anyway?

Well, I am going to tell you.

Sleep is important to our bodies. It recharges us. It helps our bodies to heal and to grow. Since sleep is important, we want to create conditions around us that encourage our bodies to rest. There are lots of ways to do that and I submit to you that one of those ways is to go to bed in a bed that is made.

There is something that happens in our brains when we slip into a made up bed. Something positive. It feels good.

Not only does this feel good when we go to bed, but it also feels good to walk into a room and see a nicely made bed during the day.

Messes and clutter can be stressful and depressing sometimes.

It’s just your bed. A baby step. A few minutes out of your day.

I challenge you to test it out and see if you actually feel better taking this baby step.

There is comfort in a freshly made bed.

Baby step for this week: Make your bed every day.

If you already make your bed every day, give yourself a high five. If you make it some of the time, focus on doing it daily. If you don’t make it at all, then what are you waiting for?
